For parents

Parenthood can be both a challenging and a rewarding experience.

At The Anchor Practice we understand that different kinds of parental anxieties can emerge at different stages of your child’s development, and it can feel hard to keep up with the rapid changes of childhood, adolescence and young adulthood. These concerns can often feel overwhelming, and unlike anything one has experienced before.

Our clinicians are trained in models of psychotherapeutic support designed to promote parental functioning at each level of your child’s development. Our clinicians have experience and training in the field of perinatal psychology and can support expectant mothers and fathers who are preparing for the transition to parenthood. We are also able to offer evidence-based support for parents who are concerned about the mental health of their adolescent child where their child is reluctant to access support for themselves. Whether you are trying to conceive, worried about pregnancy and birth, experiencing difficulties adjusting to life as a new parent, or are concerned about your child or adolescent’s wellbeing, we are able to offer professional support, tailored to your particular family.
